The possibility of a trineutron (^3n) bound state is investigated by solving the Faddeev equation with a realistic nucleon-nucleon interaction in the coordinate space. It is found that J^P=1/2^+, 3/2^+, 5/2^+, 7/2^+, 1/2^-, 3/2^-, 5/2^- and 7/2^- states of ^3n are unbound for the Reid soft core potential.
