On the Bound State of the Massive Thirring Model and the Sine-Gordon Theory

The bound state problem of the massive Thirring model is examined without ues of the intermediate boson assumed in the work of Dashen et al. The binding energy is compared with that of the elementary boson of the sine-Gordon theory, which is obtained by the WKB method. It is verified within errors of the approximation that the elementary boson is a pseudoscalar bound state of the massive Thirring model.
