An attempt is made to explain the low-lying states of ^<20>Ne in the generator coordinate method. The intrinsic wave function is a simple Slater determinant of the Nilsson singleparticle wave functions. The generator wave functions for the generator coordinate β (the parameter for Y_<20>-deformation) are determined in a new numerical method. Three lowest states for each total angular momentum are derived from the generator wave functions. We compare our results with those in the shell model and those in a coexistence model which mixes prolate and oblate deformations.
