Canonical formalism is described in terms of curvilinear coordinates and energy-density commutation relation is derived from the integrability condition of total Hamiltonian density in model independent ways. This commutation relation is shown to have a simple form originally given by Schwinger, which is valid for the arbitrary spin fields without any restriction on the form of interaction.
