Overlapping Resonance Scattering of the K_0-K^^-_0 System

In this study, we rigourously derive the explicit form for the S matrix fo the neutral Kaon system from the dynamics of a collision where two compound states K_0 and K^^-_0 are formed. It is found that S_<fi>(E)=B_<fi>(E)-iΓ_L/(E-M_L)・g_<Lf>h_<Li>-iΓ_S/(E-M_S)・g_<Sf>h_<Si>, where g_<Lf>=√<2π/Γ_L><f, out|V|K_L>, h_<Li>=√<2π/Γ_L><K_L´|V|I, in>, g_<Sf>=√<2π/Γ_S><f, out|V|K_S> and h_<Si>=√<2π/Γ_S><K_S´|V|i, in>. We then use these results to obtain the Bell-Steinberger sum rule directly from the unitarity of the S matrix. It is hoped that this success would clear up any remaining existing doubt about the equivalence between the sum rules for K_<L^->K_S decay, since it becomes obvious through this work that there is only one sum rule which has been written in various forms.
