By analyzing the data concerning the slope parameter of the differential cross-sections of the forward peak for elastic pp scattering from the threshold up to the ISR energies, it is shown that the nonresonating background is described in two terms: One is controlled by the pole in the complex J-plane which is kept fixed against the variable n^2. The other is controlled by the pole which moves against s linearly.
