Considering the background of Dewey's philosophical thoughts, including his reflective thinking, and their relations to physical education, teachers and students, this paper reaches the following conclusions: 1)The ultimate aim of Dewey's ideas is to harmoniously develop men's minds and bodies with their souls. 2)Emphasizing the development of social efficiency, Dewey maintain that physical activity can be utilized as a process for integrating people and society. In other words, he thought that human movements, through physical education, could help people to become a democratic citizen and contribute to the development of society in general. 3)According to Dewey, physical education should be carried out in such a way as to promote learners'interest, demands and motivation through the problem-solving methods.
