Chicken tarsus tendon is mineralized contintnottsly with age. Normal and mineralized collagen fiber co-exist in the aged hen tendon and the boundary of them shows a features of mineralizing process. Periodic short platelets and long needle-like minerals along the fiber axis observed inside of fibril, beside spherical miunerals between fibrils. The formers are explanable very well by the Helical Filament Model (1995 in this meeting) and the later may be derived from matrix vesicles.
