Pain might be considered to be a kind of sensory perceptino as well as a emotional reaction from its clinical picture. The more centrically the origin of pain stimuli is located, the more emotional or protopathic nature of pain becomes remarkable as seen in the case of central pain such as phantom pain or thalamic pain. For the purpose to know the emotional reaction on pain the author has tried to find out how emotionally the patient suffers from the central pain and what kind of psychotropic drugs are effective for its pain. Imipramine has been found to be the most effective to the central pain.It is very suggestive for us that the drug which curs the psychia pain (melancholie) can be effective for the somatic pain too.
