A correlational study by the varimax method on basic dimensions of meanings of "Disease Image" indicated the following findings.(1) There are two basic dimensions of meanings, by which disease image is constituted; one is the alien relation with disease, another is the amicable relation with it.(2) The patient, who actually suffers from disease, shows a confusion of the two ways of being concerned with disease. This result fairly corresponds with authors' previous results, in which the patient dwelled in a bewildered life world (Ueno : 1970).(3) Regardless of the patient's objective factors as the state of disease et al., such ways of being concerned with disease as above mentioned are consistently found in all of patients.(4) From the consideration for actualizing the amicable way of being concerned with disease, a psychotherapeutic treatment will be opened.
