In medicine, so long as somatic disease is treated physiologically and pathologically detached from a man as a whole being, we, clinical psychologists have very little to participate in it. Only when a patient is observed throughly in every phase as a psychological and social being, we can participate in medicine. Fortunately, this tendency today is encouraging clinical psychology to enter into medical area owing to the recent remarkable progress of psychosomatic medicine in Japan. Aside from the psychiatric field which has already gained a considerable ercognition, it is our work in the future how much conrtibution we can make in the filed of medicine.Therefore we sincerely hope to try our best to answer that doctors are expecting of clinical psychology.
