A hundred cases with neurologic manifestations of psychogenic origin were studied from a view of clinical neurology. Neurologic manifestations in these cases were denied of organic origin by clinical examinations and laboratory data, and were thought due to psychogenic causes. The results obtained were as follows ; 1. Wide varieties of symptoms were observed. These symptoms were classified into 4 groups, (1) the symptoms of the cranial nerve's region (39 cases), (2) of the extremity and trunk's region (107 cases), (3) convulsions and disturbances of consiousness (27 cases), (4) autonomic symptoms and misc (19), Of symptoms of cranial nerve's region, speech disturbances (11 cases) and blepharospasmus (8 cases) were most frequent. Of the extremity and trunk's, moter paralysis (32 cases), sensory disturbances (31 cases) gait disturbances (25 cases), involuntary movement (19 cases)were frequent in order. Convulsions and disturbances of consciousness were found in 27 cases. 2. The mode of onset of the symptoms was classified into 3 types (acute, insidious, and paroxysmal). The course was classified into 4 types (transient, stationary, remission and exacerbation, exacerbation). Acute and paroxysmal onsets which were dramatic, were seen in 66 cases. The symptoms in these cases inclined to have a trasient course and to disappear suddenly. The 14 cases with insidious onset had a stationary course. The follow up study in 54 cases indicated that 36 cases were improved and 16 cases stationary. 3. The relationship between the mode of onset and the localization of the symptoms, and age of patients was observed. There was a tendency that in the younger patients the mode of onset was acute, the prognosis was well, generalized symptoms as general convulsions and disturbances of consciousness were common, on the contary, in the elder patients the mode of onset insidious, the prognosis not well, and localized symptoms as blepharospasmus and involuntary movement common.
