When larval development was regulated by the application of methoprene with juvenile hormone activity, trehalose accumulation in the silk glands occurred according to their development. The enhancement of trehalase activity was demonstrated in the silk glands of larvae treated with methoprene. It is conceivable that the trehalose accumulation in the silk glands was regulated by trehalase activity controlled by methoprene.
