In Korea, they have been trying to establish their own history since 1945,giving much importace on the historical education in schools. However, although we acknowledge their efforts to establish their national identity, we can point out that Koreans are under a bias against Japan. In this paper, the writer has attempted to clarify such a bias fully, analyzing Korean school textbooks of history. In addition, she proposes the idea of reform in the history education in Korea in order to improve the relationship between Korea and Japan.
