In each of the autumn of 1967,1968,1969,and 1970 four balloon flights were made at low latitudes, Taiyo (mag. lat. 26°N) and Haranomachi (mag. lat. 28°N) in Japan. Vertical profiles of the ionization intensity due to cosmic-rays were obtained with spherical chambers carried by balloons. The maximum ionization intensity was about 110J at an altitude of 17km. The observed ionization intensities showed a decrease of about 10 percent as compared with that deduced from the data obtained by Neher in 1965. This seems to be ascribed to the 11 years solar-cycle.
