This paper deals with the exchange flow under the unstably stratified field. The author developed the effective measurement system as well as the numerical analysis program. The system and the program are applied to the helium-air exchange flow in a rectangular channel with inclination. Following main features of the exchange flow were discussed based on the calculated results.(1) Time required for establishing a quasi-steady state exchange flow.(2) The relationship between the inclination angle and the flow patterns of the exchange flow.(3) The relationship between the concentration profile and the inclination angle.(4) The relationship between the net in-flow rate and the inclination angle.(5) The comparison of the computed velocity profile and the net in-flow rate with experimental data.A good agreement was obtained between the calculation results and the experimental results.
