• The detection and recording systems for urethral sounds during micturition were developed. This procedure was postulated as "urophonography" and its recording as "urophonogram." Classification of urophonograms was undertaken on the basis of analyzing 10 normal healthy male volunteers, and 16 patients with prostatic cancer. Four types were demonstrated. After the endocrine treatment the urophonograms of Types 2 and 3 shifted to Type 2. Urophonography will be a new approach to urodynamic investigations.
