Density data and the stratigraphy profile from a 50m firn core and a snow-pit at DT001 in Princess Elizabeth Land, East Antarctic Ice Sheet, show that the densification process there is of the cold densification process type. The depth of the first critical density is 10.4m; the depth of the second critical density is assumed to be 60.4m. There are only a few embryo depth hoar layers with thickness of several centimeters, and most of them overlie or underlie ice crusts. The relative light transmission variation of the firn core is not clear above 16.0m; below that, the cyclic light transmission becomes obvious with increase of depth. There are relatively abundant ice crusts with an average of 7 crusts per meter in the firn core. It is concluded from the firn core dating by stratigraphy, δ^<18>O and chemical profiles, that the accumulation trend increased slightly over the last 250 years. The mean accumulation rate of the whole firn core is 130.7mm of water equivalent per year.
