This paper try to outline a suggestion to teachers of a helpful and effective ways to teach language for deaf students. It doesn't only limited for deaf language teachers but for all deaf teachers who may find it is useful for them in their teaching these special students. Due to these students' hearing impaired, teaching language becomes more difficult as it involves the development of cognitive, thinking ability and linguistic or language skill which these students are lacking. Teachers will face more difficulties when these students are not only identified as having hearing loss but also intellectual, emotional and behavioral disabilities. The effects of these abilities to these students' communication skills will be discussed briefly. Through the discussion, some issues surrounding the effective usage and acquisition of sign language will also be touched. Regardless of the teaching methods used in teaching these special students, the learning process will not be a successful one if we are unable to communicate effectively with them. So, this paper also will view some of the communication methods widely use among deaf educators. The issues of individual differences across these students' profiles of language modes, levels, self-concepts and motivation will also be analyzed. As language competence is linked to listening and conversation, reading and writing ability, this paper will try to outline ways or methods of teaching these skills.
