• An ultra sonic sensor (USS) is used for detection of the forward obstacles principally. Occasionally the robot, which carried the USS on board may do abnormal action. Because the USS had detected not only foward obstacles but upward and downward obstacles, so we had to solve this trouble. As the first work that solved this trouble, we needed to measure directivity of the USS in the three dimensions. First as the beginning that this data was got, the equipment that can measure 3D directivity investigated us whether it was marketed. On examination, the equipment was not marketed. So we decided oneself developing this equipment. This report is described about development of the equipment for measuring 3D directivity of the USS.
