The calculation of chromaticity coordinates of the light color of light sources using a personal computer requieres the input data such as the CIE 1931 spectral tristimulus value and spetral radiant power distribution at an individual wavelength for the light source used. If their input data can be approximated by a function of wavelength, however, such a procedure diminishes the numbers of necessary input data and, as result, simplifies the calculation. This paper describes the comparison chromaticity coordinates of light sources based on CIE 1931 standard observer with those calculated from Moon-Spencer approximated equation and authors' approximation.
