The purpose of the present paper is to determine scientifically the most suitable standards for measurement of Japanese women's different body types in making up their garments. For the subject of present investigations 157 girl students of Nakamura Junior College of Food and Nutrition have been used. Their ages were between 19 and 22 years old. The measurement of 23 parts of the bodies were carried out from September to December, 1961. The material is classified into three groups in order of height, and is studied variations in body types between three groups. As the result of this study, it is concluded that there are distinct differences between three groups of body types.
