The reasons why 5 or 3-storied Japanese Pagoda, notwithstanding its slender tower-like construction, is earthquake proof, have already studied by the many investigators One of the the reasons is that the natural period of vibration of the pagoda is generally long compared with the period of ground motion by earthquake. The authors already have reported the structures and the results of measurements of the period and acceleration of natural vibration of three 3-storied Japanese Pagodas and estimated the flexural rigidity of these towers. In this report, considering the composite construction of pagodas and analyzing the results of measurements of their vibrations, the dependency of the flexural rigidity of pago- da on its structural blocks that form roofs, masugumi and outside paneling are studied
