With the passing of the machine era, in which the economy and industrial production were valued and digital thinking was privileged, we have come to find such a way of thinking quite inhuman. The Japanese now need to establish new standards for their ideas and actions, since the Japanese educational system has seriously eroded their mental abilities. In the current educational system, technical and mathematical skills and knowledge have been too highly prized and students have been forced to cram for examinations. Both tendencies not only stifle the importance of analog thinking but display lack of respect for individuality and human nature. As a result, many Japanese have lost their creativity. In order to improve this situation, both analog and digital techniques of thinking should be taught in all educational institutions. The integration of both these ways of thinking is necessary in all design activities. The introduction of design activities to educational institutions has, therefore, the advantage of helping promote the above concept. Establishing a new social system in accordance with this concept should be beneficial for our lives and culture.
