• The method of measuring marginal utility devised by Irving Fisher is discussed. Deterministic nature of the method is illuminated and an attempt for statistical extension is made. The discussion is a step towards filling the gap between the classical methods of measuring marginal utility and the modern econometric methods of estimating utility function.
