It appears in Japan, while its people's average life expectancy is being prolonged and the aged segment in its population is increasing, that sufficient attention has not been paid to certain inconveniences in the relationship of cars and aged users Due to a shorter history of motorization in Japan as compared with Europe and America, car designs adapted for the human life cycle has been neglected, in spite of the rapidly increasing number of cars on roads Especially, as a result of lacking adequate consideration to designing a car for the aged, not a few aged car users have to unwillingly give up driving a car, because of their physical unfitness This is a research into the vehicle design to match the aged, in their artistic sense fostered by their carriers and culture and in practical functions and equipment required from their physical decline It is ultimately targeted to design a sample car for the aged after a series of such researches
