The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of capital liberalization and find how transfer of technology influence the patterns of trade in the developing countries. Recently, there has been a great deal of work on the effects of international investment and transfer of technology (see Batra and Baladi [1990], Marksen [1983]). General expressions for technical change and pattern of trade in goods with and without capital movement were derived. That is,capital movement leads to a direction of capital flows which acts to reinforce the pattern of comparative advantage and trade caused by differences in technology. Furthermore, it turns out that, when there are trade distortions, the welfare effects of capital movement are often closely related to the initial pattern of trade. In this paper, we can briefly survey of different effects of capital movement, when there are technical change and transfer of technology between two countries, especially in the small country (developing countries). However, the results show that we cannot make unambiguous comments about the welfare effect on the patterns of trade in the developing countries.
