To clarify the relationships between sprint time and various physical fitness in sprint cyclists, the time of full-exertion pedaling through 200 m and 500 m courses after a sufficiently accelerated state (200mTT and SOOmTT) and the time of 250 m dash from a stationary state (250mSS) were measured on the truck course in 20 male professional Keirin cyclists. In addition to examining the anaerobic power on bicycle ergometer, the physical fitness tests including isokinetic and isometric strength were administered. In a result, the 200mTT time and SOOmTT time were most correlated with the mean anaerobic power (per body surface area) of pedaling during 30s at 4kp. However, the 250mSS time was most closely correlated with the anaerobic power (per body mass) of pedaling during 10s at lOkp. The back extension strength per unit body mass showed a significant correlation with the 200mTT time and the 500mTT time. The torques of hip and knee extension as well as the arm pull strength were significantly correlated with the 250mSS time. The leg extension power per unit body mass and the height of vertical jump were significantly correlated with the times of 200mTT, SOOmTT, and 250mSS.
