The aim of this paper is to show how so called "problem behaviors" are located in the whole system of one's behaviors and through that to show some view points of educational approach toward children. The results of the analysis of three mentally retarded children's behaviors are as follows. H (boy), for example, shows offensive acts. J (girl) shows finger-sucking, nail-biting and self-injuring acts. M (boy) shows finger-sucking, self-injuring and offensive acts. These behaviors are generally called "problem behaviors". But in J's case, her behaviors reflect want of voluntary connections with the environments. In M's case, they are the reactions of intensive dependence upon things and others. From the results stated above, the definitions of "probem behaviors" should be reconsidered as discussed in the main discourse.
