• "Civic Education" in Japan has been emphasized at least three times until now ; first in the period of Taisho-Democracy, second in the termination of the World War II , and third in 1969. "Civic Education" or "Staatsbiirgerliche Erziehung" was in fashion before or after World War I , and "Civic Education" of the day in our country belonged to that global tendency. This treatise takes a bird's-eye view of the process of formation of "Civic Education" in Taisho-Democracy stage. I'll intend to search the conditions of formation of "Civic Education" in Japan for thepurpose of making that meaning clear.
