The science of living things must be the biology, not the zoology plus botany. But the present state of biology is nothing else than a mosaic work constructed from these two seiences. Advancing their long courses of the history of research separated from each other, they have different nuances at several points of the manner of treating or explaining the phenomenon of life. As the result there are many points of incompatibility or independency in their contents: to say out, on the use of technical terms, the classification of unicellular organisms, the analysis of life-phenomena etc. We hope therefore the biology to have its contents arranged more systematically as a single harmonious science. But the biology is of course other existence than the living things themselves. We must therefore study the organism on itself directly at any time, using the contents of biology only for references.
