A collection survey of the mecopteran insects was carried out in Sugadaira and its vicinities during the periods from April to September in 1994 and from May to September in 1995, as a supplement to the previous study (SUZUKI and ANDO 1987). Panorpa leucoptera and Biltacus mipponicus listed in the former repot were corrected in the present study to P. kagamontana and B. issikii, respectively. Panorpa japonica is bivoltine in the vicinties of Sugadaira lower than ca. 800 m alt., and P. pryeri seems to appear only once in a year. The vertical and seasonal distributions of 17 species recorded in Sugadaira and the vicinities were shown in figures based on the present and previous study.菅平高原およびその周辺には、草原、湿原、渓谷林や根子岳、四阿山などの亜高山帯などがあり、変化に富んだ植生ゆえ、多くの種類の蛾類を産することが知られていた。菅平の蝶類ファウナは、宮田(1963)、　安藤(1964）、小林(1965）　らの報告に始まり、その後も、京浜昆虫同窓会（1971）、　松本むしの会（1982)などの報告がある。・・・
