Although many involved in corporate management believe that the increasing environmental awareness in society is threatening, it actually can be utilized as major business opportunity. It is necessary for corporations to recognize appropriate environmental costs as being as inevitable as other costs such as labor and capital, and costs for the improvement of productivity. Also, it is very important to form a society in which the consumers duly appreciate such corporations that cope positively with environmental issues. This thesis attempts to offer an in-depth explanation of the idea in sections 1 through 5,and, in subsequent sections, an analysis of corporate / industrial awareness and attitudes towards environmental issues. In the last sections, an introduction is made with regard to the current situation of the network of environmental organizations that relates to corporations in dealing with environmental issues as well as the Gunma Eco-industrial Park (Gunma EIP) that was formed, by several corporations, as a project to cope with the recycling issues in Gunma. This is meant to explain the inevitability of the information sharing networks in order to cope with environmental issues.
