Mathematics in most Japanese classrooms is taught in a very traditional way. Sometimes students are expected to memorize many formulas and theorems which they neither understand nor appreciate. To bring back wonder and the excitement of mathematical discovery to the classroom, we have created more than 200 models for the mathematics classes to encourage students to experiment and to observe, to make conjectures and to verify them. In this paper we discuss some of these models, in particular, models that can be used to teach properties of circles : the relationship between central and peripheral angles, the existence of inscribed and circumscribed circles, the Sine Theorem, the Alternate Segment Theorem, Ptolemy's Therorem, and the Addition Theorem for the Sine Function.
