In the movement of University Reformation, the style of graduate school is changing. One trend is to make it COE (Center of Excelence), and the other is to increase the new roles of graduate schools as a professional school. The purpose of education in graduate schools was mainly to educate the research sucsessor, but recently the purpose is sifting to train the professional workers who can take an active part in many fields of this society. In short, graduate schools began to fill the roles of professional schools. I will point out some new roles of a graduate school as a professional school, understand the present condition, and check some problems in future. First, we need to confirm the movement of graduate school reformation, espesially, the trend toward professional schools. This trend has been rapidly emerging in 90's. Second, we grasp the correspondence of universities to this movement. The success of the correspondence depends on whether it meets needs of the society. Therefore, third, I make it clear what our society expects graduate schools, according to the result of some questionnaire survey, etc. And we need to grasp the actual conditions of the University. At last, I summarize the problems in future.
