• Polycrystalline ceramics were made from PbO-CrO_3 system compounds. The electrical conductivity of sintered pellets of PbO-CrO_3 were measured. Doping with rare earths lowers the room temperature resistance to about 10^5∿10^7 ohm-cm; about 4 orders of magunitude lower than undoped material. The differences among the variously doped ceramics are independent of the amount of the rare earth dopant. It is possible to use the sensitivity and temperature range of application of the doped polycrystalline ceramics as available thermistor.
