Generally, an imbalance of three phase input currents has direct effects upon the rotating machine in the neighborhood of an electric power source. Accordingly, either a Scott-T Transformer or a linear circuit has been used to keep the three imbalanced phase input currents at the balance state. However, the balance of the input currents in these converters is not enough for two phase imbalanced loads and variable loads. Then, the author has proposed a three-to-single phase converter, constructed with an autotransformer. This paper deals with an analysis of the fundamental circuit of the converter. In this analysis, the several features of the converter are clarified. Moreover, a three-to-three phase converter which has a thyristor control circuit has been conceived. The three phase input currents of the new converter are automatically balanced for the three phase imbalanced loads.
