The research of critical speed of high speed rotating shaft is one of the important subjects in mechanical engineering, so there are many researches up to the present day. Yet there remain unsolved problems, especially to make clear the dynamic characteristics of an asymmetric flexible rotor supported by asymmetric bearings is one of them. The author considered an idealized model, in which a disk was mounted at the center of a flat shaft with different bending rigidities in two mutually vertical directions corresponding to the principal axes of inertia of the section. Each of the supporting parts of both ends was supported by springs in both directions vertical and horizontal. Masses were concentrated at the central disk part and supporting parts of both ends, as a concetrated mas system. And the equations of motion with periodic coefficients in terms of springs were derived. In this report, analyses were made by Bogoliubov-Mitropolsky's asymptotic method to find the dynamic characteristics of the subharmonic resonances in this system. Some of the analytical results in the previous papers and the existence of the subharmonic resonances have been experimentally confirmed.
