It was hypothesized from the concept of identification that assimilative behavior takes place in adults when the unconscious mechanism is dominant. The purpose of this study is to examine if assimilative behavior arouses under the condition of concentrated attention to the model. Two model boxers fought. And the fight was recorded on Video Tape. Subjects were told that one of the models was a student of their university and the other was another university student. They watched the boxing match on television without bodily movement and their EMG was obtained. Two subjects showed typical change in EMG when the boxer of their university was striking. This result supported the hypothesis.
