• Environmental pollutions due to the dissolved metal ions have been of great importance. This paper describes the electrochemical monitoring of metallic corrosion by means of the square wave method which was originated by the present authors and their coworkers. The results showed that the corrosion rates of iron alloys were obtained with high sensitivity. The square wave method enabled to deduce the polarization resistance with out any arbitrariness and with reproducibility.
