The purpose of this study is to re-interpret the tree drawing from the viewpoint of tree psychology. Up to this time the relationship between man and tree has been understood that they are upside down. Namely a man's head, body, and sex organ correspond to a tree's root, trunk, flower and fruits each other. So, the tree test must be interpreted from point of the upside down relationship between man and tree.In this study E.H.Erikson'model on organ mode, social modality and identity was applied to the analysis of 57 students' tree drawings.Further the instruction of this test was changed such as "Please draw a fruit tree included root, as well as you can.”And students used the test papers that were framed circularly. The results of this study were as follows;(1)The viewpoint of upside down relationship between man and tree will increase the importance in the interpretation of tree drawing.(2)E.H.Erikson's model was very effective in new interpretations of tree drawing.(3)To draw a tree in frame of circular contributed to the understanding of identity.
