It is said that the borderline between children and adults has become more vague recently.Children are breaking into adult culture and at times, adults are feeling nostalgia for their childhood experiences. Thus an intermediate area between child and adult culture is generated. This culture is affected greatly by the media and also our present consumption society. The characteristics of this culture are the permeation and extension of child and adult cultures, and the high level of tolerance in adult society. This intermediate culture is structured by the following factors:1.IntensityIn media such as animation, this is structured by disjunctive narratives of dual confrontation. Therefore, the content of the narratives becomes stereotypical. In contrast, emphasis is placed on the expressive aspect of the powerful imagery and scenery.2.ConformityThe human relationships of children and youths today are said to lack depth, but at the same time, they come into line with social self-recognition or self-fulfillment. Such situations can be seen prominently in the media.3.ExtensionChildren adopt the life-style of adults, and absorb themselves in the adult world. Adults, on the other hand, seek to extend their childhood practices. Objects and information that can be obtained to live in such life-styles are increasing.
