The purpose of this study is to investigate the implicit values culturally determined, as well as the quality of life felt by young people in Japan.Questionnaires were administered to 173 university students. They were asked not only to assess implicit values at both the culturally typical level and the individual, but also to check each item of quality of life inventory.The main results were as folllws;(1) "Work and experience", one of the individual implicit values, was influential in scores at the quality of life.(2) There were not any differences between male and female in culturally typical values.(3) However, there founded some significant differences in individual values. The female subjects were in favor of feminist's view of values, while the male preferred the sex role values.(4) Young people appeared rather passive and negative at both culturally typical and individual values in Japan than some other countries.
