• This paper deals with the resonant frequencies and mass coefficients of longitudinally vibrating bars whose cross-sectional areas change abruptly in several points. In the analyses the equivalent four-terminal electrical circuits theories were used. Based upon the general equations reduced from the analyses, several convenient design charts were made for unsymmetrical bar with one step, and for symmetrical bar with two steps. The calculated values agreeded fairly well with the measured values.
