In order to investigate temperature distribution of a rotating body such as motors using thermocouples, a ship-ring is usually used. Since generated voltage by a thermocouple is very low level, we need a high-quality slip-ring, contact points of which are made of precious material. But it is very expensive. Instead of a multi-point slip-ring, a changeover switch of thermocouples in a rotating body may be used. We designed a changeover switch, made a test model and tested the characteristics f the switch. The structure and characteristics are described in this paper. Errors of measured temperatuer ascribed to a slip-ring or the changeover switch are tested experimentally. Errors are caoused by voltage generated at points where thermocouples are connected with connecting pins ina slip-ring or the witch. Rotating speed has a important effect upon the errors. These errors can be rectified through measuring the surrounding air temperature by a thermocouple on a rotating body. Any other important problem isn't noticed, then it can be concluded that this changeover switch is applicable.
