• We obtain the condition for the function μ (x, t) in order that the maximal function M_μ(f)(x) defined by Coifman, Meyer and Stein [2], satisfies the weighted L^P inequality, ‖M_μ(f)‖_<P,W>≦C‖f‖_<P,W>, in the case the weight function w (x) belongs to A_P-class in the sense of Muckenhoupt [4]. (See also [1], [3]). For the proof of this result, we use the idea of "weighted tent space", T^1_w, which is the weighted version of "tent space" introduced also by Coifman, Meyer and Stein.
