• According to material balances around the feed plate, a convenient stepwise construction method for determining the location of the feed plate and the demarcation between the stripping and enriching sections has been developed. And the McCabe-Thiele method has been modified by use of this method. A convenient grahical method for the transition from one operating line to the other has been proposed.
