• This report focuses on how important the treatment of a pragmatic and sociolinguistic point of view is as to the development of English textbooks. The rough investigation from a pragmatic perspective was made about the Oral Communication A textbooks emphasizing communicative competence monitored by the Ministry of Education. It turned out that features noticed in natural conversation could be found only in some textbooks.
