This paper tries to explore more useful and authentic learning theory, through understanding and review of 'Transformation Theory' by Jack Mezirow. Criticizing that adult education has paid too much stress on instrumental learning for a long time, Mezirow suggests "learning about meaning perspective" as essential to adults' learning. Meaning perspective is the psychological structure through which we interpret our experiences and synthesize them into the stock of experiences. Transforming our meaning perspective into more authentic one is neccesary in the process toward our personal maturity. Mezirow's theory of perspective transformation is very suggestive, in the sense that it clarifies the importance of the way we give meaning to our experiences.
