In the curriculum development in the teaching of history, the method of sympathy by which teachers try to make the students get sympathized with the past agents, is often used. However, the logical structure of this method has not been theoretically clarified enough. The purpose of this study is to clarify what part the past agent's intentions and beliefs play in the reconstruction of the historical events. In this study, the Logic of Action Sentences in historical descriptions, maintained by A. Danto and F. Olafson, is analyzed. The interaction of prospective perspective and retroactive perspective is discussed.
